Women and children leaving domestic violence
Permanent homes with care, counseling and education on site, so a fresh start can last.
Grants and Public Spaces
Veradia Foundation brings city, state and federal funding to mixed-use buildings with affordable homes, local clinics, classrooms, small businesses and community space, for the families Los Angeles is still leaving behind.
Who We Build For
Permanent homes with care, counseling and education on site, so a fresh start can last.
Homes for families still waiting on insurance and rebuilding, close to the schools and jobs they know.
Vacant lots and empty buildings turned into places the whole community can use.
Mixed-Use by Design
Every Veradia project stacks homes, care, work and gathering space under one roof. Rent from neighborhood businesses helps cover the clinic and community space, so the good a building does keeps going long after opening day.
A home is where rebuilding starts. We make sure the funding is there to build it.
One Project, Start to Finish
An example of how a Veradia project comes together.
A vacant motel on a busy corridor. The shell, roof and plumbing are already there.
Neighbors and service providers shape what the building should hold and who it should serve.
We apply for city housing funds, survivor-housing grants and community block grants.
Motel rooms are rebuilt as private apartments, with a clinic and classroom on the ground floor.
Residents move in with care, counseling and job training just down the hall.
Results go back to every funder and the city, so the next project can move faster.
What Every Project Holds
Private, permanent apartments designed with dignity.
Space for medical care and counseling on site.
Classrooms for education and job training.
Secure buildings and support staff for every resident.
Our Role
The Foundation handles the institutional side of Veradia, so our partners and the community can focus on building and caring for people.
Where the Funding Comes From
Programs and funding rounds change. Each agency sets its own rules and makes its own decisions.
Accountability
A written conflict-of-interest policy. Members never vote on contracts they could benefit from.
Design and construction contracts go to competitive bids at or below fair market value.
Results and spending reported to every funder and shared with the community.
Board of Directors
Our founding board brings years of work with local businesses, builders and community projects across Los Angeles. As we grow, we are adding independent directors so that most of the board has no financial tie to Veradia.

Founder & Board Chair
For years, Shiva has helped local business owners and community projects find the funding and partners to get off the ground. Founding Veradia brings that same work to the families who need it most, and Shiva leads the board's vision.
Community capital and partnerships

Co-Founder & Board Secretary
Fernando brings deep real estate experience and a sharp eye for property, helping the Foundation find buildings with the potential to become homes. He keeps the board's records and keeps partners, neighbors and funders connected.
Real estate and community relations

Board Treasurer
Trevor has managed the books on large-scale construction projects and major Hollywood productions, where every dollar is tracked. He brings that discipline to the Foundation, so every public and donated dollar is accounted for.

Veradia Community Grants
Once funded, we plan to offer grants to nonprofits, small businesses and community groups working alongside our projects, many reached through Veradia Collective. Program details will be announced here.
The Veradia Family
The funding engine: public and philanthropic dollars, compliance and stewardship.
The action network: the people, partners and community voice behind every project.
The private-capital side: guidance and lender introductions for the financing that completes a project.
Contact
Public agencies, funders, developers, service providers and community groups are welcome. Share the basics and we will follow up.
